Being prepared for active shooters in the work environment is something that needs consideration when planning for employee safety.  This brief overview from FEMA is a reminder of the importance clearly marked exits play in being able to escape from a shooter; how the first aid supplies on hand can be lifesaving until help arrives;  and that fighting a shooter should be your very last alternative after hiding.  An active shooting incident can happen anywhere at any time.
