Small Business Facts

According to the Census Bureau, firms with fewer than 20 workers make up 89% of businesses in the USA.  Small businesses are the backbone of local communities. The bulk of job creations in the US depend on small businesses and about 1 in 5 firms are family owned. Employees of small businesses tend to be happier. In one study, 56% of small business employees rated higher on commitment than workers at large corporations. Local businesses also bolster revenues needed for town improvements because they pay local taxes. Local workers also contribute to local cashflow because they tend to shop locally themselves.  Local communities depend on small businesses not just financially, but also culturally. They give uniqueness to a town and color to it’s Main Streets.
